According to my schedule in this month, I have to attend JICA seminar in Hiroshima from 20th to 27th August. So I thought I could not have a birthday party as my dear friends in Honjo had. Frankly speaking, I would like to stay and have a party with my dear friend in Honjo than come to Hiroshima, becasuse my feeling told me that the participants for this seminar won’t do anything for me as honjoer do.
The third week of August come, nothing speacial for me, oh this year I may have no chance to cut my birthday cake as everybody did
.
The day of 19th, I should stay home and prepare luggage for leaving to Hiroshima but I had to go to Tokyo to finalize some tasks that I am not yet completed on time. When I arrived my dormitory, I checked my mail box as usual, I saw a delivery note ( Why delivery note? my fiance stay home for whole evening why my stuff arrive with no receiver??) Ok, will ask him when I arrive my room. I rang a bell so many time, no answer? I kick a door, wow the door was open with a man (my fiance) was holding a birthday cake and Happy birthday song sang by my dear honjo friends, really really surprised me a lot.
I have nothing to say beside the word “thank you” for your kindness and care to me, you guys are one part of my family, love you all.

Finally, my summer seminar was finished. After check out from seminar house, my professor, senior from vietnam and I were taken a taxi to Karuizawa station. On the way to station, my professor asked taxi driver to stop by the historical street of Karuizawa in order to let me have a chance to look around the shoping street in Karuizawa. I was really like and enjoy with this shoping street.
I reach Karuizawa station at 11:10 AM, however I had to wait until 12:50PM to catch a bus to Yokokawa station. Finally I arrived my home sweet home around 5PM with a very warm welcome from my fiance ( Thanks bong for picking oun up from Honjo station ).

The morning alarm rang at 7:30 AM to inform us that the time for breakfast is served for only one hour from 7:30 to 8:30 AM, no more breakfast after 8:30AM. It was early morning for me since I used to get up nearly afternoon, but I had to
.
After breakfast, my laboratory started seminar until 2:30 PM with 1 hour break for lunch. Finally, sport time came, Soccer and Tennis were the two sports that our lab members had selected. I chosed Tennis even though I cannot play. I really enjoyed with Tennis very much, my professor and my senior are good at Tennis, I really aprriciate their kidness to teach me how to play Tennis and patience to play with me until end without any complain ( Thanks professor, thank senpai).
Today’s dinner was the same as the first day and we also had drinking party at night as the first day. But it was a kind of special, because the weather was good, we were asked to go to soccer field to see the stars by our professor. “The stars and sky here are kind of speacial than the stars and sky in Tokyo or somewhere else“, said Professor (He seems enjoyed and had a good feeling at that time, me too
).

This year Urano Lab Summer Seminar is took place in Karuizawa town which is located in Kitasaku District, Nagano prefecture, Japan.
Karuizawa is known throughout Japan as a popular tourist spot. Many couples and families from Tokyo will travel to Karuizawa to get away from the city especially in summer. There is a Shinkansen station as well as a large outlet store shoping mall. It is also known for its historic shopping street known as “Ginza dōri” or “Kyū-dō”.
This is the first time for me to join summer seminar with my lab members. Because I am the only girl among other 9 men student, so I was allowed to stay with a visiting professor in Professor’s house. Professor’s house is located on the hill and isolate from student accomodation. It is quite far from the central, but facilitated with all inside such as kitchen and bathroom. However, what impressed me is the way Japan build, facilitate and decorate house. The size of house is around 6m X 4m, but it consists of 10 beds, one kitchen, a bathroom, and two long tables wich allow 10 or 15 people to have a small party or meeting.
After check-in, we had a few minutes break and started our lab seminar. Two hours break for dinner and shower, then we started our seminar again until 11:00 PM. All students are invited by our sensei to his room to have a drinking party until 1:30AM ( I was not there until they finished, because of tired and cannot understand Japanese at all).
That’s all for the first day, i will post more on the second and third day next day.

From 23th to 30th of March, our friends from Niigata visited Honjo. And then we, altogether, had spent our vacation in Kyoto and Kobe. Before we went there, we dropped by Tokyo to say hello to Cambodian friends who are studying at National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS). At night we took night bus to Kyoto. Thanks to our friends there who provided us an accommodation and guided us some famous places, temples, shrines and food in Kyoto. In Kyoto, we also had a chance to spend our dinner with Japanese family who had worked in Cambodia for couple years ago. Coincidentally, we also celebrated our 1 year engagement anniversary there. After 2 days in Kyoto, we extended our holiday to Kobe. Our friends there also actively escorted us to experience in Kobe. Finally, we took a night bus from Kobe to Tokyo.
